Basell has made available Hostalen ACP 6031D, a new high density polyethylene (HDPE) resin designed to offer converters of bottles for household chemicals and daily care products a combination of stiffness and environmental stress-cracking resistance (ESCR).
The high stiffness of Hostalen ACP 6031D can enable customers to obtain an ESCR of up to 10 per cent higher than a typical HDPE grade. By reducing wall thickness, the material also allows for reduced part weight, material consumption and cycle times.
Additionally, the highly crystalline structure of the new HDPE grade allows bottles to remain stable over long periods of time.
