Sonics & Materials, Inc. brings to the ultrasonic plastics assembly equipment market a manual press designed specifically for assembly projects where production volume does not justify a more expensive pneumatic presses. It provides a more controlled motion of the welder than is possible by just holding the handgun, resulting in more consistent assemblies. The press enables flexibility for the experienced operator and ease of use for the novel user. This unit is small, therefore minimal space is required within a manufacturing or assembly environment. The manual press can be used in conjunction with Sonics’ 20 kHz 500-watt ultrasonic hand held welder. The unit is available with foot switch actuation or cam actuation to ensure precise and consistent welds. It can also be adapted for use with Sonics higher powered (1000 and 1500 watt) power supplies and converters.
