The cast film business of Malpak (Ajax, ON) has grown 100% since it started in 1998, so the company recently purchased a third processing line from Battenfeld Gloucester Engineering. The new line is 147 in.; capable of processing six 20-in. wide rolls at speeds up to 2000 fpm.
A key feature on Malpack’s line is the innovative, shorter, staggered turret design and sturdy construction of the Battenfeld Gloucester Model 12000DS winder (shown above). These allow rolls to be wound with consistency at higher speeds and minimum vibration.
