Cincinnati Milacron debuted its global-platform Elektra 300 all-electric injection molding machines, demonstrating advances in performance, size and simplicity. The machine features a new base, injection unit and high-speed direct-drive clamp; open-architecture PC-based control; and low inertia motors with air-cooled dryers.

The Elektra 300 is shorter, and delivers 10 percent more clamp tonnage in the smaller footprint. The base is designed for maximum stiffness and damping, while retaining tri-directional part removal capability.

Elektra designers have used a high-speed, direct-connected rack-and-pinion clamp drive that is exceptionally quiet and responsive.
