SmartSet electronic control systems from Solid Controls are a new line of low cost control systems for injection molding machines that provide an alternative for molders with smaller or older presses who cannot justify investing in more sophisticated and expensive control packages.
The entry-level Genius provides sequence control and temperature control. It offers 32 digital inputs and outputs, four zones of PID temperature control with auto-tuning, five internal mold setups, and Windows PC-based programming tools.
The middle-level Wizard is used together with a customer’s existing input/output (sequence) control and adds closed-loop process control of injection velocities and pressures, and temperature and position control.
The high-end model Prodigy provides total control replacement and other closed-loop features.
