“The Canadian vinyl siding production capacity will be expanded as Royal Plastics Ltd. of Weston, Ont. throws its hat into the ring”, read Canadian Plastics’ April, 1985 issue. “The custom profile extrusion company is embarking on its first venture in vinyl siding manufacturing with a $2 million facility being built in Ontario’s Vaughn Township, north of Toronto.” Royal president Vic DeZen confidently predicted major export markets for the output from the 50,000 sq. ft. facility.
