In September 1984, Canadian Plastics reported that Moldflow software was becoming more affordable and accessible, as it could now be run on IMB personal computers instead of only on mainframes or super-mini computers.

Also in that issue, Ron Evason, president of the Society of the Plastics Industry of Canada, was cited as the first Canadian to win the Key Award from the American Society of Association Executives. Lillian Strutt joined SPI Canada about this time to manage the upcoming Plast-Ex ’86 show.
