To create the extreme look that Bell Innovative Products wanted for their new line of FU skateborads, RTP Company recommended using glow-in-the-dark technology on the underside of the boards. The result is a cutting edge skateboard with a built-in ground effects lighting kit.

The effect is accomplished by insert molding an extruded sheet of RTP-supplied glow-in-the-dark (GITD) material to the bottom of the polypropylene board.

RTP Company incorporates high intensity, long glow duration pigments into its line of GITD compounds. The materials take an initial charge quickly and average 10 times the brightness and 10 times the glow duration of typical GITD materials. In contrast with older technology, the pigments are light stable, which means their glow properties will not fade over time.
