EMI Plastics Equipment has produced lane dividers which, when placed down the first 1/2 of an eight station parts-diverter, will divert parts from two injection molding machines to eight separate containers.

Parts from machine 1 are fed onto one side of the belt and are diverted to the first 4 chutes. To keep parts from continuing down the conveyor, the fourth diverter is locked in the open position. Meanwhile, parts from machine 2 are fed onto the other side of the belt which moves the parts past the first 4 diverters to the next set of 4 diverters where they are fed into the remaining 4 containers. Separate control settings for each set of 4 diverters allows for each to operate independently of the other.
