The first national initiative of the new Canadian Machine, Tool, Die and Mould Federation (CMTDM) will be to produce a wage and business conditions survey for its members. The survey grows out of labor and benefits surveys of the CMTDM’s constituent associations, the Canadian Machining and Tooling Association, the Canadian Plastics Industry Associaton’s Mould Makers Council, and the Canadian Association of Mold Makers. The survey will be completed by the end of the year.

It will provide both a broad national perspective and regional details about vacation and benefit statistics, hourly wage rates for over 90 positions, and salaries for over 20 positions. The business and financial survey sections cover shop rates, investments and liquidity, sales per employee, and accounts receivable data.
