XTRU-XPERT software enables the identification of the root causes of various extrusion defects, facilitates the calculation of important quantities and recommends courses of action for troubleshooting. Offered by PolyDynamics, Inc., the software includes a glossary with explanations, unit conversion calculations and information on the most relevant aspects of plastics extrusion.
The software troubleshoots surging, screw/barrel wear, melt blockage, moisture, gels, sharkskin and melt fracture to name but a few problems. It also carries out quick calculations on the extruder (throughput, power, torque and more); dies (pressures drop, wall shear rate and more); and viscosity and melt flow index.
