Hennecke GmbH unveiled its brand new ElastoLine range of machines for the processing of polyurethane cast elastomers. According to Werner Kraft, project manager, foaming machines, Hennecke, the new machine line is the culmination of a two-year project undertaken by Hennecke and Bayer personnel to redesign its machine for processing Vulkollan, Bayer’s oldest cast elastomer, and other multi-component cast elastomers.

“This is a completely new machine, from top to bottom,” says Kraft.

Kraft says one of the major improvements is the machine’s modular, compact design which makes it easier to clean, maintain and customize to specific applications for two-, three- or four-component processes. Another feature is a redesigned temperature control system featuring double-walled component tanks, insulated cabins for tanks and metering pumps and electrically heated and insulated feed lines. Stainless steel gear pumps and hydraulically controlled mixhead injectors ensure very short synchronous switching cycles and maximum precision shot times for highly repeatable shot-to-shot weights.

Standard ElastoLines are available in three sizes for processing two components with an output range of 0.5 to 10 kg/min. A stand-alone glycol flushing unit for enhanced and safe cleaning is also being offered with the machine.
