Vertical all-electric IMM is fast and accurate

For insert and overmolded products, Sumitomo offers SR Series all-electric vertical injection molding machines. This rotary-table vertical series uses the same all-electric technology that has been field-proven on the company’s SED and SES machines.

Each SR machine is equipped with five synchronous AC servo motors that draw power only as needed, and ensure fast, high-precision operation. Results for shot weight accuracy and repeatability yield a typical deviation-to-mean ratio of less than 0.02%.

The SR units also demonstrate 50% less power consumption compared with hydraulic vertical machines.

The SR Series achieves faster cycles due to its ability to simultaneously perform insert and molding operations, and the exceptionally fast table rotation.

Large tonnage hybrid IMMs

For high performance and low energy consumption, Negri Bossi’s Vector series of large tonnage hybrid injection molding machines integrate an AC electric motor with vectorial control for screw rotation. All Vector machines are capable of three phases of simultaneous machine function: screw rotation, clamp opening/closing, ejection or cores.

The Vector series has clamping force ranging from 660 to 1700 tons. All Vector machines have a low profile design for easy access to the molding area, as well as integration of robots and automation equipment. A new parallel axis reduction gearbox decreases noise levels and increases efficiency.
