The Maer system can trim bottles using the “lost head” techniques at speeds up to 30,000 bottles per hour, faster than conventional speeds. Users can expect to see line speeds increasing as reciprocating screw machines add more heads, and the use of wheel blow molder become more popular. Some dairies are also wanting to change from deflashing bottles at the blow molding machine in preference for deflashing at the filling line, which means much higher speed deflashing equipment is needed.

The Maer system works in a totally different way from conventional trimmers by having multiple cutters on a rotary bottle handling system. The high speed trimmer can also be supplied with a new high speed leak tester.
