High Performance Microspheres and Macrospheres

A completely new 12-page brochure describing 18 grades of Eccosphere high performance microspheres and macrospheres is available from Emerson & Cuming Composite Materials Incorporated. Microspheres are hollow, thin-walled, microscopic glass spheres with median particle sizes of about 50 microns. They are added to plastic and elastomeric systems to lower density, improve thermal and acoustic insulation values, lower dielectric constant and improve machineability. Applications include specialized coatings, adhesives, composites for aerospace, subsea buoyancy and thermal insulation.

Macrospheres are hollow composite bulk fillers ranging from 10 mm to 16 mm in diameter. Applications include subsea buoyancy and insulation, tooling, concrete and bulk liquid storage.
