Multibase, Inc. has introduced two high flow injection grade compounds designed for ease of processability in interior automotive applications. Currently approved by GM and Chrysler, Multi-Flex TPE A 7606 HF and A6221 A are ideally suited for applications such as mats used for auto consoles and dashboards. The 7606 grade is currently used for a coin tray in the Chrysler Cirrus. The high-flow characteristics of the material provide excellent surface quality and help eliminate splits and breaks in molded surfaces. Both materials are suited as a replacement for TPV’s and contribute to demolding efficiency and reduced cycle times.
Multibase has also added 60 and 90 Shore A, mar-resistant TPE compounds, A 6202 MR and A 9702 MR, suitable for replacement of soft PVC in applications facing environmental concerns or where a soft or scratch-resistant surface is required.
