The patented design of the IMS S-Bands have fewer seams to reduce the chance of plastic leaking into the band and causing the heating element to short out. There is no pressure plate. Instead, the sides of the S-Bands are extended to meet and form a single seam.
Each has a rust-resistant, aluminized impregnated steel shell, and comes with 12 inch leads.
S-Bands have an 800 F (426.7 C) maximum use temperature. Mica insulation and nichrome resistance wire supply 31 – 46 watts per square inch to provide effective heating. High temperature insulated leads help prevent short circuits and increase safety.
