Film Replaces Paint on Trunk Panel

Ford Motor Company has selected Avloy formable paint film laminate for use on acrylic plastic lower trunk panels for the 2001 Ford Crown Victoria. Avery Dennison’s Avloy paint film laminate is an OEM approved dry-paint film, specifically formulated and designed for use with injection molded plastic parts. By using a paint film, both Class “A” high and low gloss quality finishes can be produced without the need for expensive spray painting operations and its related emissions issues. The trunk panels are thermoformed and molded with the paint-film laminate by Car Plastics, a division of Visteon. The film is compatible with a variety of different substrates.
