Extrusion processors who operate production lines at 450 lb./hr. (200 kg/hr) or less can now blend up to six raw material components without investing in a larger, heavier gravimetric blenders designed for higher throughput rates. The new Maguire Weigh Scale Blender model WSB-160 comes equipped with a six-compartment hopper, each with its own material-dispensing valve, yet costs 40% less than typical six-component gravimetric blenders, according to B. Patrick Smith, vice president of sales and marketing for Maguire. The WSB-160 is an appropriate size for throat-mounting on small processing machines.
