The new SC-8 and SC-12 are the largest Sure-Cut rotary knife cutters Conair has ever made. A servo drive with a 10:1 true planetary gear reducer drives a single large knife that cuts tubing or profiles from below rather than from the side.
This patented configuration dramatically increases cutting torque and capacity, accommodating tubing or thin-wall pipe up to 10 in. in diameter, or profiles as large as 4 in. by 16 in.
Unlike travelling saws or planetary cutters, the SC cutters slice through profiles almost instantaneously, so the cutter doesn’t need to travel with the part. This can allow for higher line speeds and reduce floor space requirements.
