For gear pump applications involving higher pressures, higher percentages of filled materials, and higher molecular weights, Witte Pumps is offering optional gears with a herringbone design for extrusion, compounding, polymer extraction and transfer/booster pumps.

By replacing standard gears and bearings with the one-piece herringbone gears, discharge pressures can be increased and the life of the gear pump’s internal parts extended.

Witte gears can be used in Witte pumps, and are interchangeable in pumps from most other major gear pump manufacturers.

The new gears provide equal bearing loading which allows for less frictional energy requirements, decreased temperature and shear to the fluid, and decreased pulsations.
