Cognex Corporation has expanded the data access capabilities of its SmartView web inspection system. The industry standard OPC interface ensures real-time inspection control and data access between the SmartView system and other business, production and quality systems in the plant. Real-time data notifies the processor of defects as they occur so they can be corrected immediately. The ODBC data interface provides flexible, remote access to inspection data from the plant’s information systems and other third-party production data management applications.
