Electromagnetic clamping without mold modifications

Enerpac’s electromagnetic clamping system for injection molding applications is designed for use with non-standardized molds, without requiring mold modifications. Permanent magnets generate a strong magnetic field in the clamping plate, holding the mold securely in place. To clamp or unclamp the tool from the machine requires electrically powering the magnetic system, but electric power is not required to maintain magnetic clamping force. The system can be mounted to any existing injection molding machine, and can drastically reduce mold change time and improve productivity.
