The Brazilian company Embraer, the world’s fourth largest aircraft manufacturer, has chosen an elastomer to produce fuel cells to be installed in its line of Legacy business jets. The fuel cells are supplied by Pronal, a French company specializing in high technology flexible products made of elastomer. Pronal was selected based on its experience in the development of fully vulcanized, flexible tanks and its proprietary manufacturing process. That process uses the principle of hot vulcanization in an autoclave to produce parts with a high mechanical resistance.
