A new report highlights developments in polymer/layered silicate (PLS) nanocomposites. The report, compiled by Rapra Technology, focuses on major commercial trends and developments over the last decade. A small amount of nanodispersed filler leads to an improvement in material properties, such as modulus, strength, heat resistance, flame retardancy and lowered gas permeability. The report discusses the physiochemical properties of PLS nanocomposites, as well as methods of producing and processing the materials.
