TechniDrill Systems has introduced a heavy-duty system for drilling large mold blocks weighing as much as 100,000 pounds. The 200HD4A system has a drilling capacity ranging from 3/16 in. to 2.00 in. in diameter and can drill holes up to 84 in. in length. The 84 in. x 84 in. worktable offers a fourth axis, with 24 in. “w” travel that permits the headstick to extend 24 in. over the worktable, allowing convenient entry into cavities and shoulders in the mold block.
The new system is also equipped with an auxiliary machining head that permits the operator to perform face milling, tapping and counterboring without moving heavy mold blocks from the worktable. Users can expect reduced drill times, quick machine set-up, and fast CNC programming.
