Gefran’s M series, which uses a hydraulic system for pressure transmission, is suitable for extrusion lines, injection molding machines, plastic recycling machines and hot melt.

The W series, which uses an FDA approved oil as transmission fluid, can make the sensor suitable for all applications/media in contact with food and drugs.

Pressure ranges available are: from 0-35 bar to 0-2000 bar, with accuracy of 0.25%. Gefran melt pressure sensors are available in rigid stem and flexible stem versions, and with a thermocouple for measuring pressure and temperature in the same point.

Components: Ethylene glycol effective as heat transfer fluid

IMS Co. now stocks a low-cost ethylene glycol that can be used as a heat transfer fluid in mold temperature controllers. The new UG-10 ethylene glycol is more effective at transfering heat than water, uninhibited glycols or automotive anti-freeze, reports IMS.

UG-10 is formulated with corrosion inhibitors to help ensure peak mold operating efficiency. It can allow temperatures up to 297 F in a closed system.
