Colorful Acrylic Targeted for Retail Display

A new patent-pending acrylic sheet, Plexiglas EdgeFX, exhibits dual-color edge effects. The edges of the sheet change from red to blue to yellow depending on the angle of observation. The colors, which are brilliant fluorescents, are observed under ordinary light conditions such as display areas in stores.

Tom DeMain, marketing manager for Atoglas, says the new material has been previewed by representatives of point-of-purchase and retail display markets. “We fabricated prototypes as stacked panels in fountain-like designs, as well as in the form of twists and swirls. Everyone we showed these parts to was very receptive to the technology.”

The new sheet will initially be offered in two pairs of colors with either frosted or glossy surfaces.

“We think that new Plexiglas EdgeFX acrylic sheet gives designers for the retail and POP markets a new way to create highly imaginative, innovative and effective displays,” says Demain.
