Duoject is a research and development firm based in Canada with a strong focus on developing devices that mix and administer medicine. The syringe socket and vial socket of the company’s Duoject Inter-Vial and Inter-Vial Plus are made with K-Resin styrene-butadiene-copolymer (SBC) from Chevron Phillips. The resin provides strength, clarity and holds the close tolerance required for the devices.

To meet the aesthetic and performance requirements for the vials, the company had originally considered using polycarbonate. After investigation, R&D personnel learned that polycarbonate couldn’t provide the flexibility needed to mold specific undercut and snap fits. The superior flow characteristics of K-Resin SBC met these requirements.
