Global color concentrate supplier Clariant Masterbatches continues to consolidate its position in Canada, with capacity expansions coming onstream at both its Delta, BC, and Toronto facilities. In addition, there will be a second capacity expansion at the Toronto plant later this year.

The two new lines will increase capacity at the Toronto masterbatches facility by about 40%. Dragos Gavriluta, vice-president/ general manager of Clariant Masterbatches Canada, says the added capacity will allow Clariant pursue new business, while improving lead time and service levels.

“There are two dimensions to our service commitment,” says Gavriluta. “One is to meet the lead time and delivery expectations for the finished product. The other is to help customers differentiate themselves from the competition, by helping them during the design stages.”

Being a global supplier, Clariant has access to a broad knowledge base for R&D and technical support. As well, the company has a strong portfolio of masterbatches for commodity and engineering resins, plus additives and chemical foaming agents.
