Clariant changes names of several pigments and additives

The Pigments & Additives division of Clariant International Ltd. announced that it is changing the brand names of all its products that start with the syllable “Sand”.
The name changes are a result of Clariant’s spin-off from generic pharmaceutical company Sandoz in 1995.
The following product names will be changed as a result of the rebranding: Sanduvor, a light stabilizer, will become Hostavin; Sandostab, a stabilizer/ antioxiodant, will become Hostanox; Sandoplast, a polymer soluble dye, will become Solvaperm; Sandospers(e), a pigment preparation, will become Flexonyl when used for the printing industry, and Hostatint when used for the coating industry; and Sandocolor, an aluminum finisher, will become Anodal Color.
The official launch of the new brand names is January 1, 2007, and the entire process is scheduled to be completed by January 1, 2008.
Clariant, a global manufacturer of specialty chemicals, has over 100 group companies and employs approximately 23,000 people. The company is headquartered in Muttenz, Switzerland. Clariant’s Canadian headquarters are located in Markham, Ont.
