The Redoe Group has been in business for over 30 years, mainly providing tooling for automotive lighting systems. In recent years, the moldmaker has expanded on this core business, by opening divisions to provide customers with full service. One area that has received particular attention is hot plate welding.

This month, the Redoe Group is scheduled to complete a contract to build molds for a trunk rear lamp, fender rear lamp and the hot plate welding tooling for both, with the final destination of Wuhan, Hubei province in China.

The hot plate tooling will be tested in Redoe Fixtures’ in-house hot plate press before final shipment. The parts from the trial will be tested for leaks and burst pressure, CMM inspected and certified. Redoe also uses this press for customer’s prototype runs.

All hot plate tooling is CNC machined from math data at Redoe’s facilities. The tooling is CMM certified and a full layout is provided to customers. Using a specialized method, Redoe is able to provide exacting tolerance on the heater when it is at operating temperature.
