The Secundo classroom chair is specifically designed to alleviate the detrimental effects of poor posture in children and young adults. The seat shell of the chair is made of lightweight and robust Baydur 110 polyurethane from Bayer. Baydur combines the necessary flexibility with a high degree of stability and design freedom. The chair moves with its occupant, no matter what position he or she adopts.

Manufactured by German furniture maker Marko, the Secundo’s polyurethane seat shell is molded and mounted on a sturdy tubular steel base. Baydur’s microcellular structure combines light weight with a robust, abrasion resistant surface that is slightly roughened, making it pleasant to touch and at the same time helping to prevent slipping and sweating. The liquid polyurethane components allow the seat shells to be molded at low pressures in inexpensive molds, despite the seat’s complex geometry. The process is ideal for short- to medium-length production runs.
