The Society of the Plastics Industry's Composites Institute estimates U.S. shipments of composistes in 1998 will reach 3.49 billion lb., a 2.1 percent increase over 1997. Data includes reinforced thermoset and thermoplastic resin composites, reinforcements and fillers.
