Brampton Engineering’s I-Flex System provides superior quality three-layer blown film for laminating and converting. The complete system with Brampton’s Streamlined Co-extrusion Die (SCD) is modified to meet the demands of this specialized application.

Knowing that precise gauge control is essential for lamination film, Brampton has developed the I-Flex AutoGauge Control Lip. With this intelligent lip, processors can expect to see 2-3% 2 Sigma gauge variation with typical polyethylene-based lamination film from 30-150 micron. (The I-Flex lip is available for all SCDs 1-10 layers)

Based on sensor readings, Brampton’s proprietary software tells the mechanical actuators in the die lip to physically distort the die lip (push or pull) at any one of the actuator locations. There is an average of one actuator per inch of die lip circumference.

To further improve film properties, feedscrews with upgraded mixing capabilities will be standard on the I-Flex lines.
