Detroit-based molder Thinking Outside designs modular outdoor storage and work spaces that are functional, durable and easy to assemble. The company’s latest release is the SmartGardener’s Workshop, a full-featured greenhouse complete with windows, storage spaces and 882 cubic feet of work space.

The size of Thinking Outside’s products requires large-scale blow molding as well as structural foam parts to reduce weight but maintain sturdiness. The greenhouse measures 3 m x 3 m x 4 m. The large 50 mm thick panels for the greenhouse and for Thinking Outside’s SmartShed are molded on Davis-Standard single head 75-lb. and dual head 50-lb. blow molding machines.

Design highlights of the greenhouse include upper and lower venting sections, polycarbonate arched greenhouse windows, garden hose access, ramped entries, built- in potting/utility table, and a soil bin accessible from inside or outside.

The blow molded walls are made of polypropylene.

The greenhouse can be assembled in about four hours by three people.
