Sidel has introduced a PET blow molding machine capable of producing 1,500 bottles per hour, per mold. The technology, which is available on all SBO Series 2 machines from four to 20 molds, boosts speeds by seven percent.

The technology will be on display at this year’s K Show (Hall 13, stand B69) where an SBO 10 will produce half-litre bottles for carbonated beverages at an output rate of 15,000 bottles per hour. Over a full year, the increased production on this machine, for 4,000 hours of operation, amounts to four million additional bottles.

Agr*TopWave LLC has added to its line of plastic container inspection and measurement products with the PETWall thickness monitoring system. PETWall is a non-contact measurement system, designed to monitor the wall thickness of monolayer PET containers on the production line, 100 percent of the time. This conveyor-based system measures wall thickness and monitors material distribution in up to four locations on every container. PETWall can be used to detect containers with random variations as well as provide real-time process information.
