3D Blow Molding Machines Maximize Access to Part
The SIG Kautex SB-8 and SB-15 suction blow molding machines provide economical, high-quality 3D blow molding. The SB-8, 8-ton model, is suitable for part diameters up to 80 mm. The front transversing cylinder rod on the SB-8 clamp disengages from a coupling device on the opposite clamp platen and pulls back for easy part removal and access to the mold.
The larger 15-ton SB-15 has been used for suction blow molding of tubular shapes up to 96 in. in length. The clamp transversing movement of the SB-15 uses hybrid-electric drive and short-stroke hydraulic coupling devices for the final clamp. Both the coupling devices and rods mount flush with the parting line, again for maximum accessibility, and can be moved to different locations on the clamp platen to compensate for cavity locations away from the platen center.
Both machines can be equipped for mono-layer extrusion or sequential co-extrusion of different materials.
