Three individuals were presented with Canplast awards by the Canadian Plastics Industry Association at the group’s annual gala May 6 — David Birkby, Patrice Henson and Bob Miller. Birkby, as a pivotal member of the CPIA Western Regional Management Committee, has been a strong supporter and advocate for CPIA West for many years and an early supporter of the CPIA P3 sustainability program. He is president and owner of Westbridge PET Containers (Calgary, AB).

Patrice Henson, leader of the Product Stewardship Council of NOVA Chemicals Corp. (Calgary), has been a long-standing supporter of CPIA through the Environment and Plastics Industry Council. Her guidance and expertise in sustainability through product safety and product life cycle management issues have allowed EPIC to deliver relevant and effective communications, product stewardship and public affairs programs to appropriate stakeholders.

Miller and the company he leads, Atofina Canada Inc., have been active supporters of the Vinyl Council of Canada (VCC) for many years. As a member of the VCC Operating Committee, Miller has volunteered his time and expertise for the common good of the vinyl industry and its association.

The Canplast awards recognize long and distinguished service to CPIA.
