Watlow Electric is now offering a line of hot runner nozzle and manifold heaters which use thick film technology to provide operators more control over temperature uniformity while helping to shorten overall cycle time.

“A number of innovative features have been incorporated into these new heaters that make them far superior to more traditional cable and tubular heater technology,” says Jim Kreisel, thick film product manager. “Not only do they feature a uniform thermal profile that eliminates hot and cold spots, but their low thermal mass allows for extremely quick heat-up and does away with much of the thermal lag between the heater and the nozzle and manifold. This combination leads to both higher quality products and shorter cycle times.”
