Nucon Wittmann has introduced a series of adjustable-dewpoint dryers specifically designed for PET applications. The Continuous Desiccant Dryers (CDD) are available with throughputs ranging from 250 lb./hr. to 2500 lb./hr.

The adjustable dewpoint minimizes energy consumption during the regeneration process for optimal closed loop drying. The dryer automatically controls the regeneration temperature, based on the dewpoint of the air leaving the dryer. When the material and air are relatively dry, the dryer may adjust the regeneration temperature. This also helps to reduce the energy required to regenerate the desiccant. Therefore, the dryer is regenerating dynamically based on the actual situation, not on a preset on/off time as with conventional dryers.
