The new FloLogic System from FloLogic Inc. automatically protects homes from water damage by shutting off excessive flow caused by ruptured water lines or continuously running appliances. The system consists of a linear flow sensor and a motor-driven ball valve, with an LCD display. The ball valve and two components of the flow sensor are molded of Ultraform acetal copolymer. Ultraform provides excellent dimensional and hydrolytic stability. The material’s rigidity and low water absorption are essential for accurate flow sensitivity of the linear flow valve. The plastic also imparts excellent lubricity for the ball, which rides on an EPDM-elastomer seat.
