Eastman is introducing three new thermoformable EastaStat antistatic packaging resins that “should fulfill most customers’ requirements for ESD packaging,” says Paul M. Flynn, market manager for Eastman Chemical.

Eastman has taken its Eastar PETG 6763 packaging resin and integrated it with materials that are inherently antistatic.

EastaStat PETG GSP11 is a washable, static-dissipative polymer with low outgassing, and is suggested for hard disk drive component packging, and similar applications.

EastaStat GSP21 is a clear antistatic PETG for one-way packaging of computer/electronic parts.

EastaStat GSP31 is a toughened PETG, loaded with carbon black. The material is thermoformable, with good mechanical properties.
