Aet Expanding Quebec Plant

Applied Extrusion Technologies will spend about $48 million to increase the capacity of its Varennes, Que. oriented polypropylene film plant. The investment will raise capacity of the plant from the current 14 million pounds per year to 34 million pounds, according to a company spokesperson. The expansion coincides with the company’s decision to close its North Andover, MA operation and move equipment from the plant to Varennes.
