Saying he is “pulling aside the curtain” on his business, Marc Wade, president of specialty chemical and additives manufacturer Ed-Lynn Corporation, has announced his company will introduce an initiative designed to provide strategic advantage to new customers. Wade says the strategy, which will be rolled out in 2003, could change the way polymer additives are developed and introduced into the market.

“Traditionally, we’ve been a supplier of additives to large Fortune-500 companies and OEMs,” says Wade, noting his customer roster includes the likes of Cytec Industries, Crompton Corporation, and other large polymer and additives suppliers. “Now we’re going extend the same product lines and capabilities to extruders, injection molders and compounders.”

Ed-Lynn Corporation is headquartered in Markham, ON. All the company’s additives are manufactured at a facility based in Taiwan. Wade says the launch of a high performance delivery system for processors and compounders will include the company’s full line of colorants and additives, including anti-oxidants, stabilizers, clarifying agents and other specialty chemicals for polymers. He believes the system will permit customers to create customized additive solutions more quickly.

“I encourage people to come to me and say ‘here’s what we want'”, says Wade. “Often a big supplier will tell a customer it can’t be done. Our approach is that it can.”
