Two 3D blow molding machines for the production of automotive components were delivered to China last year by SIG Blowtec, Germany.
The horizontal Blowtec S3 blow molding machines open molds in a vertical direction, and are equipped with a six-axis robot to manipulate the parison into the mold cavity.
A radial wall thickness control system balances the wall thickness in the bow areas.
All SIG Blowtec machines employ modular construction, so that various head and extruder combinations are possible. Examples are mono-layer, accumulator head, sequential co-extrusion heads (for hard-soft-hard extrusions), and up to six or seven layer co-extrusions.
