Xaloy acquires Spirex Corporation

Melt processing and auxiliary equipment supplier Xaloy Inc. has purchased competing firm Spirex Corporation.

“Our long term strategy is to balance our growth and breadth of product offering. This acquisition supports that strategy,” said Ron Auletta, president and CEO of New Castle. Pa.-based Xaloy.

A manufacturer plasticating unit products, including screws, barrels and front-end components, Spirex is headquartered in Youngstown, Ohio.  

The terms of the purchase have not been disclosed.
