U.S.-based thermoset materials maker IDI Composites International (IDI) has bought Jet Moulding Compounds Inc., of Ajax, Ont., a supplier of high-performance thermoset molding compounds.
The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
IDI, headquartered in Noblesville, Ind., provides customized polyester/vinylester-based compounds for automotive/truck, aerospace, electrical, food service, alternate energy, and appliance applications.
According to an IDI news release, the acquisition makes it the largest supplier of high-performance thermoset molding compounds in the world, and also gives the company faster turnaround for its expanding global customer base.
IDI also said Jet Moulding will continue to operate as an independent entity in Ajax through 2011, after which it will be consolidated into the Noblesville manufacturing facility.
