Global styrenics supplier Styrolution, founded last year as a joint venture of BASF and INEOS, has opened its new global headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.

“We see this important step as a sign that we are standing on our own two feet as a company,” said Roberto Gualdoni, the company’s CEO. “All global functions that are now distributed across various locations will be brought together under one roof so that we can better serve our customers from a central location. Furthermore, this provides us with an opportunity to grow together as a team.”

The company is a 50-50 joint venture between BASF and INEOS, comprising the key styrenic business activities of both partners.

Said to be number one worldwide in the supply of styrene monomer, polystyrene, styrene butadiene copolymers and other styrene-based copolymers and copolymer blends, Styrolution employs approximately 3,400 employees and operates 17 production sites in 10 countries. In 2010, pro-forma combined sales totaled 6.4 billion euros.
