The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
According to Jerre Stead, chairman and CEO of the Englewood, Colo.-based IHS, CMAI’s proprietary chemical information, analysis business, and price discovery consulting made the firm attractive to IHS and will “deliver additional high-value analytical services to our global customers.”
The IHS acquisition of CMAI is the latest in a string of strategic transactions designed to beef up the company’s base of capabilities in energy and power, environmental health and safety, and petrochemicals and automotive industry forecasting.
Houston-based CMAI has clients that include chemical companies, oil and gas companies, plastic converters, and industrial and consumer manufacturers. The company has offices in Bangkok, Dubai, Dusseldorf, London, New York, Shanghai and Singapore.
